Dr. Laurence Binder began his career in Oregon in 1978 after completing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Wayne State University and an internship at the University of Florida Health Center. He is licensed as a psychologist. Board certified in the specialty of clinical neuropsychology, he conducted thousands of evaluations in his career. He is also a scientific researcher and the author or co-author of over 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters in scientific books in the field of neuropsychological assessment. He has published on topics including the effects of traumatic brain injury, medically unexplained symptoms, and ethical issues. He has presented workshops at national conferences.
For 15 years he worked at the Portland VA Medical Center, where he was Director of Postdoctoral Training in Clinical Neuropsychology. He was recognized for outstanding accomplishments in clinical neuropsychology by being named a Fellow of both the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Because of his research activity, he is a clinical faculty member of the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU).
